The perfect Vacation For Many Types of Travelers:  The Family, The Relaxer and The Explorer

The Dayton House Resort has everything you need for a great vacation getaway.  With the oceanfront rooms, large tanning lawn and many pools to keep you cool during the day.  You can grab breakfast at John's restaurant and that afternoon drink at the Yella Umbrella Tiki Bar, or enjoy your own packed picnic and enjoy at one of the several tables oceanside.  If you are a certain type of vacationer, we have just the things that you will enjoy.

Today, let’s look at three types of vacationers — families, foodies, and explorers — and consider just a few of the reasons each can find something right up their alley on the Grand Strand:

Families: Definitely the largest attraction in terms of size, and probably the biggest single draw for most family vacationers, the Atlantic Ocean and is an obvious reason people flock to the Grand Strand. And at The Cottages at North Beach Plantation, guests have easy access to the ocean and beach via a private boardwalk from our 2.5-acre oceanfront poolscape. Another big attraction that’s within easy reach — it’s located right across North Kings Highway from the resort — is the Barefoot Landing shopping, dining, and entertainment complex. Here, families can catch dinner, a show and some shopping, all back to back and without leaving the complex. Another popular nearby spot for families is Pirates Voyage, located about 10 minutes south of the resort on North Kings Highway. Here, families can enjoy a four-course feast while watching the high-flying action as pirates fight over treasure on land, at sea and aboard ships.

Explorers: Got the urge to get out and about? Take a day trip to Myrtle Beach State Park, where educational opportunities, surf fishing and quiet stretches of oceanfront maritime forest await for adventure-seekers. A little farther south at Brookgreen Gardens, 9,000-plus acres of sculpture gardens, nature preserves, a zoo, a butterfly house and more are waiting to be explored. And for those ready to hit the waters, several area vendors offer boat rides and fishing expeditions along the Intracoastal Waterway or out into the Atlantic Ocean.

Relaxers: Few things are more relaxing than reading a good book or magazine on the beach, and the stretch of soft, white sands right behind our resort was practically made for literary lounging. For those seeking a little retail therapy, a range of national chains and locally owned boutique shops awaits just across North Kings Highway at the Barefoot Landing shopping/dining/entertainment complex, and the nearby Tanger Outlets features an array of factory outlet stores and mom-and-pop shops. And to really crank up the relaxation level, treat yourself to a massage, facial or similar indulgence at the resort’s on-site Cinzia Spa.

As you can see Dayton House Resort and Myrtle Beach is a perfect vacation destination for all types of travelers, just need to decide which type you are and get ready for summertime fun!
