One of the biggest Fourth of July events in Myrtle Beach is the extravagant fireworks displays taking place along the Grand Strand. Visitors will have multiple opportunities throughout the holiday weekend to enjoy red, white, and blue lights in the night sky. Here are the top locations this year:

MORE 4TH OF JULY EVENTS IN MYRTLE BEACH SC

Beyond big and beautiful fireworks displays, the Grand Strand boasts several holiday events on the Fourth of July. Most of these events are free for families to attend. 

RUN FOR INDEPENDENCE – 5K RACES ON JULY 4TH

Two 5K races are scheduled for this year’s Independence Day celebration. Each race is $45 to register. Prices increase after July 1st, but day-of registrations are available. There’s also a free kid’s dash at each location that totals around 50 yards and isn’t timed. 

  • Annual Red, White & Blue 5K @ Barefoot Landing – The race begins at 7:00 a.m. followed by post-race goodies. Runners, walkers, strollers, and leashed dogs are all welcome. The award ceremony will immediately follow the race. 
  • Annual Myrtle Beach Independence Day 5k @ The Market Common – The race begins at 7:00 a.m. followed by post-race goodies. Runners, walkers, strollers and leashed dogs are all welcome. Uncle Sam’s 1 Mile Fun Run will follow the path around Grand Park Lake, is not timed and requires a $20 registration fee. The award ceremony will immediately follow the race. 

41ST ANNUAL MURRELLS INLET BOAT PARADE

Join locals and visitors alike for this beloved annual event! Starting at 5:30 pm, watch speed boats, deck boats, yachts, pontoons and paddle boats decked out in their finest red, white, and blue decor cruise up and down the Murrells Inlet marsh celebrating our country’s day of independence. The best lookout points for this aquatic parade are the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk and Belin Methodist Church. 

SURFSIDE BEACH EVENTS

The town of Surfside Beach will host two Independence Day events this year. Both are free and family-friendly! Starting at 11:00 a.m, the 4th of July Golf Cart Parade will take over Ocean Boulevard with golf carts clad in festive colors and flamboyant decorations. 

Once you’ve enjoyed a day on the beach, join Surfside’s 4th of July Celebration at Martin Field – hours TBA. This kid-friendly festival usually includes bounce houses, slip and slides, and face painting. Jam out to live music and nosh on a scrumptious snack from a local food truck!
