The summer kicks off with two big celebrations! Conway is holding its Summerfest on Saturday, May 27, with a full day of fun. There will be an arts and crafts show, a car show, a kids’ zone and live music, including performances by Carolina Midnight and Smokin’ Hot. Summerfest is held in the downtown shopping district of Conway, so there will also be plenty of shopping and good food available.
The following weekend, on June 2-3, is the Myrtle Beach Sun Fun Festival at Plyler Park. The Sand Lovers, a professional sand-sculpting group, will be creating amazing sand art and offering demonstrations all weekend. There will also be carnival games and live concerts on both days, a parade on Sunday morning, and fireworks to close out the festivities on Sunday night.
And these festivals are just the beginning of the Myrtle Beach summer festival season!
Music lovers should check out some of the fantastic musical events set for this summer on the Grand Strand. With Music on Main in downtown North Myrtle Beach, Hot Summer Nights on the Boardwalk, and more musical events scheduled throughout the area, there are live shows going on nearly every night!
There is also the Carolina Country Music Fest, a four-day extravaganza set for June 8-11 that brings in some of the biggest names in country music today! Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker, Billy Currington and Kip Moore are just a few of the star acts scheduled to perform this year.
Music and food aren’t the only things celebrated in Myrtle Beach. Head down to the beach and check out the June 3-4 Native Sons Salt Games, a two-day beach festival featuring 15 different sporting competitions! The competitions include a crossfit challenge, beach volleyball and a bikini contest for the adults, and a kids’ run, youth yoga and a guppy surfing competition for the kids. There will also be live entertainment, food, beer and much more!
The Craftsmen’s Classic arts & crafts show will be spending the first weekend of August in Myrtle Beach. Not your run-of-the-mill art show, the Craftsmen’s Classic features hundreds of fine artisans and craftsmen who tour the South during the year displaying their stunning and original works of art. Stroll among works ranging across the full spectrum from traditional to contemporary. Who knows what you’ll find?
The season wraps up over Labor Day weekend with the Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival. This event features two days of good food and live entertainment, a car show and a beer garden. As if that’s not enough, it is also one of the Official BBQ Championships held in South Carolina, with more than 25 teams competing for cash prizes and bragging rights!
Schedule your Dayton House Resort vacation around a particular festival, or just come on down. With festivals heating up the Grand Strand all summer long, you’re always sure to find a good time in Myrtle Beach!
