Dayton House Resort Adds a Fresh Modern Look to Their Historic Charm

Next time you visit Dayton House Resort, you’ll be excited to see a fresh new look.

Our historic resort will still feel familiar, that place your family has visited for generations. Now that the Dayton House Resort has finished upgrades to the West, North, and Middle buildings, all rooms have gorgeous new touches of fun beachy green and blue.

All 320 guest rooms, have been upgraded and we can’t wait for you to see them. It’s a project that started two years ago at this 60-year-old fixture of Myrtle Beach hospitality.

“We’ve changed a little,” says Dayton House Resort General Manager, Daniel Locklear. “The feel is a little more modern, and we’ve put in a new pattern of carpet that you probably recognize if you’ve stayed in our renovated South and Suites buildings.”

“We still have that mom-and-pop feel with the No. 1 service on the beach, but we’ve just given a bit more modern feel to our accommodations.”

Dayton House gave light new touches to bedding and drapery, with a special plan in mind for each building. Although, you’ll still see the same beautiful paint scheme between buildings.

The West building features all new balcony furniture and granite countertops. As well, the Suites building received brand new kitchen cabinets and appliances. With a history of excellent service and maintenance, Dayton House Resort will feel like the welcome home you’ve always known at the beach – just with a few upgrades.

The Dayton House Resort built a reputation of second-to-none service with plenty of classic hospitality. In its history, Dayton House has subtly kept up with the times without losing that attention to service detail. That devotion has led to several awards recently, including:

  • Guest Services Team of the Year (two consecutive years)
  • Housekeeping Team of the Year
  • Resort of the Year

“We don’t have some amenities others have,” Daniel says. “But we’ll give you a modern and clean, well-maintained room that no one can come close to matching.”

Comfortable and relaxing. Many guests who’ve had the Dayton House Resort experience would use these words to describe their vacation. There’s a sense of pride in a property that has become the fabric of the family beach getaway. Guests whose parents brought them to Dayton House in their childhood now bring their children to make new memories of their own.

Daniel says many guests stay in the same room season after season. We’re the kind of resort where the staff will learn your name – and are genuinely there to make sure your stay is wonderful. It’s those little things that Daniel says the resort takes pride in. One guest has even been taking the snowbird route from the north for 42 years to enjoy Myrtle Beach at the Dayton House.

Our modernized rooms are part of our growth, but some things will always remain the same, such as, those iconic yellow umbrellas you’ve seen on our oceanfront lawn, tough to beat oceanfront views, and our complimentary delicious breakfast buffet that always gets rave reviews.

“It’s always a good time here,” Daniel says. “Dayton House Resort will have DJs six days a week this summer. They’ll spin interactive shows, dance parties, Carolina beach music, and more. The rest of the time, there will be peace and quiet on the grounds to allow guests to relax and enjoy the sounds of ocean.”
