Dayton House Guest Shares a Large Group Success Story

Whether you’re planning a corporate event, a church outing or a family reunion, the Dayton House Resort is ready to help you make your large-group event as easy and memorable as possible. Check out this large-group success story provided by a Dayton House Resort guest.

I have just returned from our semi-annual corporate training event/retreat, and I want to share how very pleased our company was with the Dayton House Resort. As one of the retreat planners, I have to say that Diane and Christa made our three-day training event a smooth and seamless process.

When we were looking for a place to hold our event, a salesperson with one of our vendors recommended the Dayton House Resort and promised we would not be disappointed. I went to their website and filled out the “Request for Proposal” form, and I I quickly received a response. It was a simple form and easy to fill out. I was able to upload our agenda, which gave the sales team an idea of our needs for meeting space, meals and extracurricular events.

Christa was the person who contacted me. She was polite and knowledgeable. I could tell she had a lot of experience planning events. She was excited to inform me that they could accommodate our group of 32 people and that their main conference room would be perfect for us. She also assured me that they had three smaller rooms available for when we did our breakout sessions of 10 people each. This training session was very important for our company, and I felt the Dayton House Resort staff made it their personal mission to make us feel welcome.

It was exciting to know that the sales team quickly reserved the number of guest rooms we needed to accommodate our group. For the training event, they worked with us on room setup and audio/visual equipment needs, and they provided very delicious meals and snacks. Each morning, we had a continental breakfast for the staff and any family members who attended. Lunch was provided each day and was accommodating to our one vegetarian in the group and to our manager who had special dietary needs. The service was superb, and everyone was friendly. Dinners were planned at various restaurants in the local area, to which the resort staff made our reservations. We simply had to “just show up,” which made my job so easy.

The training portion of our retreat was held Thursday through Saturday. Staff members could also attend Wednesday and/or Sunday if desired, as these were optional days for our staff to have an opportunity to get to know one another better, have fun and relax. Wednesday was a day trip to Murrells Inlet, where we toured Brookgreen Gardens and then enjoyed a nice dinner at one of the many seafood restaurants that are famous in the area. Sunday was our golf day, which provided some friendly competition between the managers and team members. The sales staff planned both optional days for us and, as expected, both events exceeded our expectations.

Some of our staff brought their family and extended the retreat by a few days into a vacation. The sales team was able to plan events for the spouses and children on the days that the training sessions were held. Each day was filled with an exciting adventure. Thursday was water park day; Friday was fishing at the 14th Street Pier; and Saturday our families spent the day at Broadway at the Beach, where they ate lunch at the Hard Rock Café and then went on a tour of The WonderWorks.

Overall, I can only say that this was the easiest training seminar/retreat I have ever planned, all thanks to the amazing sales team at the Dayton House Resort. I guarantee we will be back next year.
