Catch Them All Right Here in Myrtle Beach

Just when you thought Myrtle Beach couldn’t get any more exciting, Pokemon Go has hit the Grand Strand and taken it by storm. Released this past summer, the new game has people adventuring to and exploring in places along the coast that they may have never seen otherwise.

It isn’t very hard to tell where the local Pokestops are — they tend to attract groups of people holding their cellphones up and trying to catch whatever Pokemon creature is near them. You never know, there may be some Pokemon waiting for you right outside the Dayton House. Whether it be along the beach or the boulevard, you are sure to catch quite a few while soaking up some rays.

Some of the most popular places to catch Pokemon along the Grand Strand include The Market Common, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing and even Coastal Carolina University. You can even catch a few while taking a stroll on the beach or checking out some of the historical landmarks the area has to offer. Some other well-known Grand Strand locations offering creatures for you to add to your Pokedex include Myrtle Beach State Park, the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex and Brookgreen Gardens. So not only will you get to enjoy playing your game, but you will also get to explore and experience some of the best spots the Carolina coast has to offer.

The Market Common is an outdoor shopping center — a nice place to walk around and relax after a long day at the beach. You can catch a movie at the Grand 14, check out the local boutiques or grab a bite to eat at some of the best restaurants in town. While trying to catch all of your Pokemon at this location, be sure to check out the different activities the center has to offer. You can rent a bike to ride around the lake or complex, try out fly-fishing or even catch an outdoor movie at night if you’re there on a Friday.

Broadway at the Beach and Barefoot Landing both offer a variety of dining and shopping options while enjoying the outdoor setting. While going in and out of different shops, you will definitely be able to catch some Pokemon. You may also see some while playing miniature golf at Broadway at the Beach or while visiting Alligator Adventure at Barefoot Landing. Regardless of whether you decide to shop, dine or visit the different attractions, you will definitely be leaving with more Pokemon than you arrived with.

Another relaxing way to keep an eye out for more Pokemon is to visit Brookgreen Gardens, which is located in Murrells Inlet. Brookgreen Gardens is a beautiful, family-friendly attraction that offers a number of different activities. You can either visit the Lowcountry Zoo or walk around looking at the diverse sculptures, exhibits and breathtaking gardens. Be sure to keep your phone nearby at all times so you can capture not only the magnificent exhibits and views, but also the assortment of Pokemon found throughout the attraction.

So, if your kids are looking for that Pokemon adventure while you are staying in Myrtle Beach, no worries — there are plenty of places to explore and catch Pokemon in Myrtle Beach and near the Dayton House.
