The Beach, Sun, and Fireworks Shows! What More Do You Need?

Myrtle Beach is known for many things: beautiful beaches, striking blue ocean, food you can eat for days, and firework shows you won’t want to miss. The Grand Strand’s fireworks shows begin in April and continue through Labor Day weekend. Here, we’ve put together a list of the largest weekly fireworks shows along the Grand Strand. Of course, if you’d like opinions or need directions while you’re here, please ask your friendly staff at Dayton House Resort. We know our fireworks shows!

The Second Avenue Pier is a lively area of the beach where you will find some of the best restaurants, hotels and, of course, Family Kingdom Amusement Park. From Wednesday evenings at 10 p.m. from the second weekend in June through the middle of August, you will be able to enjoy fireworks for blocks in both directions. Our suggestion to Dayton House guests is to enjoy some time at Family Kingdom before making their way over to the beach for the fireworks It’s a gorgeous view watching a professional firework show over the ocean, you wont want to miss it. When you are staying with us, please do not hesitate to ask staff members for confirmation of dates and times.

Next on the list for Myrtle Beach fireworks is Broadway at the Beach. You can spend all day at Broadway at the Beach, as there is an endless stream of shops, entertainment complex, and dining options. Not to mention, a movie theater, mini golf and Ripley’s Aquarium. We recommend you dedicate some time before the firework show to enjoy the wonderful activities Broadway at the Beach has to offers. Beginning in early June and running through early September, there will be fireworks shows over Lake Broadway most Tuesday and Friday evenings at 10 p.m. The fun doesn’t stop after summertime. You can still watch the firework shows on Halloween, Thanksgiving weekend, the first Saturday in December and, of course, on New Year’s Eve. For more information about the Broadway at the Beach fireworks shows, visit www.broadwayatthebeach.com.

We can’t forget about Barefoot Landing. Similar to Broadway it is a shopping/entertainment complex. They have restaurants range from casual eateries such as Joe’s Crab Shack, where you will dance and sing with your wait staff, to the fine dining of Greg Norman’s Australian Grille, which overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. Of course they also have endless shopping opportunities, as well as, multiple entertainment venues. The fireworks begin Monday evenings between June 5th and August 28th at 9:30 p.m. – and, of course, there’s a bonus show on the 4th of July as well. We suggest arriving early because this is a very popular destination and parking will get harder. Avoid that rush to better enjoy your evening. For additional details on the Barefoot Landing fireworks shows, visit www.bflanding.com.

Now that you have all the information, just decide which night and location works best for you. Please remember while here at the beach that while you might find many area stores that sell fireworks, it is against the law to set them off in the city of Myrtle Beach. Leave that to the professionals. And if you would like our suggestions on fireworks shows or any other attractions while you are here with us at Dayton House Resort, we are always happy to help. Enjoy your vacation and the show!
