Renovations and Upgrades Set to Wow Dayton House Guests in 2018

Guests at Dayton House Resort will notice some exciting new facility upgrades at the resort’s Myrtle Beach oceanfront property in 2018. A number of renovations and additions at the resort’s South Tower began in November 2017 and are now nearing completion — and they’re sure to wow guests during their Grand Strand getaways in the coming year.

“The Dayton House has been greeting and serving area visitors for nearly 60 years,” said Dayton House Resort General Manager Bill Pennauchi. “From the very beginning, there was much emphasis placed on building strong personal relationships with everyone who stayed with us. This tradition of ‘extended family’ is still very alive and in practice here daily, and while service sets us apart from many of our neighbors in the Myrtle Beach area, we do not rest on service alone. Modernization is also a key component in building lasting and positive vacation experiences. The renovation to the South Building is yet another step in maintaining the warm rapport we have with our longtime patrons and a tool for attracting a new generation to our brand.”

Keep your eyes open for the many property updates and upgrades that came with the $1.6 million renovation, set to be unveiled when the South Tower reopens in mid-March 2018:

Guest Rooms — In their rooms, guests will see brand-new flooring throughout the units, including new tile in the entryways, foyers and bathrooms, as well as new carpet in the living areas. Dayton House guests will also see new granite countertops in their kitchenettes, as well as for the vanities in their bathrooms. The units will also get new cabinets, new paint, new lighting throughout, and new mattresses and box springs, plus all-new contemporary furniture, including dressers, tables and chairs, nightstands, end tables, and lounge and accent chairs. New draperies and additional new items will round out the rooms’ stylish new look and feel.

Hallways — Guests will also see renovations and upgrades in the South Tower’s hallways. Here, fresh paint, new carpet and new LED lighting will improve the Dayton House experience as guests make their ways to and from their rooms.

Lobby — In the South Tower lobby, guests will be treated to a complete makeover including new carpet, new lighting, new tables and chairs, freshly painted walls and new artwork.

While the spotlight during the mid-March unveiling of the newly renovated South Tower may be on the new, a few things won’t change at Dayton House Resort. Amenities for you and your family will still include water features like our zero-entry oceanfront pool, our relaxing oceanfront lazy river, our indoor pools and our three hot tubs. Our two-acre tanning lawn and iconic yellow umbrellas will still be as inviting and relaxing as ever. When all the fun in the sun gets you and your crew hungry or thirsty, you can still head to our on-site Yella Umbrella Poolside Bar & Grill or John’s Restaurant for some great dining options. And you’ll still find a fitness center, business center and laundry room right on the resort’s oceanfront property.

With all of the updates and upgrades set to be unveiled in March 2018 — in addition to the wide-ranging amenities and welcoming Southern hospitality that Dayton House guests have grown to expect — we can’t wait to host your next Grand Strand getaway.
