The Dayton House Resort is a short 2 miles from Broadway at the Beach, an entertainment meca!  There are always things changing growing and new.  One of their newest restaurants is the Grumpy Monk.

If you are looking for craft beers, fresh sushi and Carolina fun, then make sure to head here for lunch or dinner.

Grumpy Monk’s story is simple.   They really care about the food, the beer, and experience for each guest. Thriving on using quality products from locally chosen purveyors is a priority to them.  The beer selection is always changing but always offers 10 rotating taps from beers brewed around the Carolinas. Appreciating the local craft beer and will always support it with every pull of the tap handle.

The new location is on Lake Broadway with an awesome view of the water.  There is an outdoor patio overlooking the water along with a huge indoor area, stage for local artists to perform, sushi bar and a oversized bar with so many beer taps you will have a hard time choosing.  Happy Hour is served daily from 4 – 7 with great drink specials and food specials too.

They also offer weekly events you won’t want to miss:

Monday – Kids Eat Free

Tuesday – DJ Trivia (7 PM)

Wednesday – Pint Night

Thursday – Daily Happy Hour

Friday – Live Local Music

Some of the great menu items you will want to try:

Appetizers from Fried Green Tomatoes, Buffalo Dip to Southwestern Spring Rolls.

Entrees – Build your own salad – a very popular way to get everything you want in your greens.  The handheld favorites from The French Dipper to the Italian Mama and the Big Easy Po Boy.  You can also choose from a burger to a vegan meal, we want to have something for everyone.

If you are looking for some fresh sushi, pull your chair up to the sushi bar and east some awesome made-to-order sushi rolls.

And finally dessert, you have to try the funnel cake fries, dipped in powered sugar, you won’t be sorry.

With so many restaurant choices out there, it is so hard to just pick one, but if you are heading to Broadway at the Beach for an afternoon or evening fun, stop in for a drink, an appetizer, entertainment or the entire meal.  The experience is worth the stop.  You will even want to take home a growler of your favorite beer as a fun Myrtle Beach souvenir.
