Make a Splash at Shark Wake Park

Are you looking for a fun way to cool off from the hot South Carolina sun? Well, we’ve got the perfect solution for you – make your splash at Shark Wake Park! Whether you are an expert water sports enthusiast or just looking to try something new, Shark Wake Park has it all!

One of the Grand Strand’s newest attractions, Shark Wake Park is a must-do while on vacation in Myrtle Beach. Located just over 20 minutes north of Dayton House Resort, Greg Norman Jr.’s Shark Wake Park – a cable wakeboarding park – is the first full-size cable water sports park in South Carolina. This is something you definitely do not want to miss!

Cable wakeboarding is a new addition to a distinguished list of action sports that are growing in popularity throughout the world. The sport is thrilling and affordable because it enables action-sports enthusiasts to pursue wakeboarding without a main requirement – a boat! One of the park’s goals is to shine a light on extreme water sports by brining them to the masses. The best part is that no experience is required to start cable wakeboarding. All you have to do is show up to the park, watch a short safety video, get geared up and then head on out to the course. All gear is provided, including helmets, boards and lifejackets.

The park itself has a 5-tower, full-size cable, as well as a smaller, 2-tower cable system. Shark Wake Park is one of the easiest places to learn how to wakeboard, and it also allows advanced riders and pros to go big and do as many tricks as they’d like. And ladies – Thursdays are for the girls. Your wake park experience is half off every Thursday, so be sure to check it out.

In addition to the cable wakeboarding park, Shark Wake Park also offers its new Aqua Park. This inflatable adventure course covers over an acre of water and can hold up to 120 people per hour. So, if you don't feel that you’re quite ready for the wakeboarding, you can still have just as much fun at the Aqua Park – or you can even do both! Be sure to check out the park’s website at sharkwakepark.com for more information on rates and packages, as well as more descriptive maps and pictures of the park.

Now, parents – don’t think we forgot about you. Children under 18 do need to have a parent or legal guardian present with them, but if you aren’t interested in participating in the water sports, you can still have a great time. You can watch your kids and soak up some sun from the Shark Shack, where you can enjoy an ice-cold adult beverage and a small snack. We can’t think of a better way to witness all the action. Above the Shark Shack is a viewing deck accessible for you to watch pros and beginners alike “shred” on the water.

Believe us when we say you do not want to skip this Myrtle Beach activity. There is nothing else as fun and refreshing as the Shark Wake Park. So, after relaxing at the beach or lounging around the lazy river or pools at Dayton House Resort, head over to the Grand Strand’s newest hot spot for some serious thrills and excitement.
