Broadway at the Beach festival packs in the kids’ activities

With an abundance of attractions that are perfect for kids (and kids at heart) – including amusement parks, water parks, go-kart tracks, putt-putt golf courses, 60-plus miles of white-sand beaches, and more – the Grand Strand has well earned its reputation as one of the nation’s top family vacation destinations. And in mid-February, one of Myrtle Beach’s top attractions – shopping/dining/entertainment complex Broadway at the Beach – will present one more great reason to treat the little ones to a Grand Strand getaway. Set for Saturday, February 24, 2018, the 17th Annual Broadway at the Beach KidzTime Festival is sure to put smiles on the faces of both young and old attendees.

Offering free admission and held in a huge, heated, circus-style tent, the KidzTime Festival boasts a collection of fun offerings to delight the kids. The event’s highlights include live performances, inflatables, face painting, appearances by mascots and other favorite characters, more than 40 vendors, pony rides, fire engines, a petting zoo, prizes and giveaways, and more. Favorite Marvel Comics web-slinger Spider-Man is even set to swing in for a visit! The festival fun kicks off at 11 a.m. and continues through 4 p.m.

Located just a mile and a half from Dayton House Resort – via an easy drive down 29th Avenue North – Broadway at the Beach is a kids’ paradise year-round, even without the bonuses provided by the KidzTime Festival. In addition to a long list of shopping and dining opportunities that the whole family can enjoy, the complex offers a number of attractions that are right up the young ones’ alley. These include Ripley’s Aquarium with its all-around shark tank that weighs in at an impressive 750,000 gallons; Dinosaurs the Exhibition with its animatronic replicas of triceratops, T. rexes and more prehistoric favorites; Broadway Grand Prix with its seven go-kart tracks, two mini-golf courses and indoor arcade; the Hollywood Wax Museum; and on-water roller coaster the Beach Rider Jet Boat.

For guests at Dayton House Resort, there’s still more to keep the younger set entertained – even when the weather doesn’t lend itself to enjoying our outdoor water features. When not relaxing in our comfortable, spacious and well-appointed oceanfront rooms, your kids can splash around in one of our indoor pools or take a soak in one of our three hot tubs. Forget the swimsuits? No need to fret – the kids can also enjoy free and unlimited DVD rentals as part of our Sun & Fun Rewards program, which also provides free and discounted tickets to a number of top area attractions.

Book your vacation at Dayton House Resort today for a Myrtle Beach trip that will create lifelong memories for the whole family! Whether you are able to catch the KidzTime Festival or visit at another time of year, your whole vacation crew can get in on all the family fun the Grand Strand has to offer.
