My husband and I got married on Saturday June 11, 1983. We planned our honeymoon as a trip to Myrtle Beach. We made reservations at Dayton House without knowing too much about it. That was 25 years ago and the West Building was just opening the weekend we arrived. We were offered a "deal" on our rate if we would move from our Oceanfront reservations to the West Building. We decided to save the money on the stay in the West building. We were so pleased that we have stay in the Dayton House countless times since. We are now able to share the experience with our children, 12 and 9. My 9 year old is asking to spend his 10th birthday on the beach at Myrtle. Coincidently his 10th birthday is the day before our 25th wedding anniversary. We are considering granting his birthday wish and if available we could be spending our 25th wedding anniversary in the same hotel as our honeymoon.

My wife and I have been coming to Myrtle since 1964 when we got married. We will have ninety trips as of this June. We really like the Dayton House. Our grandson rode the same kiddie rides that his dad and his uncle Richard rode when they were kids at the pavillion. We have stayed at a lot of motels over the years and ended up at the Dayton House. We have a lot of memories at Myrtle and we have videos back to 1986.

My first visits to Myrtle Beach in the early 1960's included a stays at The Dayton House, The Colonial Inn, and the Parker House all of which were located within a one-block area.
While my dad enjoyed a game of golf at the nearby Dunes, my mom and I spent time on the beach with the air mattresses provided by Jones Beach Service.
I also enjoyed listening to the sounds of a visiting garage band from Danville, Virginia called "The Majors," who entertained at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion.

I've been visiting the Dayton House since I was a young teen of about 13 or 14. I will be 49 this December. I hadn't visited MB even once since 1984 when my boyfriend (now husband) took me there and we stayed at the DH March of 2005. Oh what fond memories I have of that place with my mother and sister and friends over many summers.

My husband and I have been spending our anniversaries at Dayton House for as long as I can remember. We stay anywhere from 7 to 10 days in November/December as our anniversary is November 28, 1969. This is the week we look forward to all year as we have been taking care of my parents for many years; and we love spending our week(kind of like "spring break") at the Dayton House. We enjoy the walks on the beach and nearby shopping. This is our week to relax, shop, and get to know each other and we ALWAYS spend it at Myrtle Beach.

I have been visiting MB since 1982 and staying at The Dayton House 1985, when it was the Best Western... There are thousand of memories of Myrtle Beach... I love the people, the food, but two memories standout the most...One..getting up early, sitting on the balcony in a oceanfront room waiting for the sun to rise... Second was. In the early 90's I brought the girl I was dating and her 3 girls down to experience Myrtle Beach.. The next year when we came back one of her girls was in the picture of the pamphlet showing the new "lazy river"... We no longer date...But during the the time that we did..All we would hear from her 3 girls, was when were we going back to vacaction in Myrtle Beach...

Once a sleepy little beach town that hosted Carolina vacationers from Memorial Day to Labor Day, Myrtle Beach has grown to be one of the top two vacation destinations on the East Coast, as well as the nations number one family beach, serving guests all year long from all over the globe.

The Dayton House has changed as well. From it's humble beginnings as a 14 room cottage, the Dayton House has grown into a 328 room resort with five buildings spanning an entire oceanfront block.
