What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in begins at 4:00 PM. Check-out time is before 11:00 AM.  

What tax rate can I expect to pay?

Local hospitality tax is 13 percent.  

What restaurants are at the resort?

The Rose Room Restaurant serves complimentary breakfast daily from 7:00am to 10:00am. The Yella Umbrella bar & grill is located poolside in the South Building and is open seasonally (Apr-Sept) beginning at 11:00am daily (weather permitting). The Sundry Shoppe is NEW and located in the lobby. Open 24/7, the Sundry Shoppe offers a variety of snacks (from candy to frozen entrees) and beverages (including beer & wine).  

What property amenities are available to guests?

The resort offers complimentary, hot breakfast daily at The Rose Room restaurant, indoor and outdoor pools, three hot tubs, a fitness center, a kiddie pool, and a lazy river. In addition, the hotel has a coin laundry room in the West Building, ample parking with two spaces per unit, The Sundry Shoppe located in the lobby, discount attraction tickets, express check-in and digital key service with our new Dayton House Resort app.  

What is your refund policy in the event of a hurricane?

HURRICANE CANCELLATION POLICY: In the event of a pending hurricane and the Governor issues a mandatory evacuation, guests will receive a full refund. If there is not an evacuation, guests can reallocate the advanced deposit to be used as the deposit toward different stay dates within 1 year of the original reservation.  

What is your policy on renting to local residents in Horry and Georgetown counties?

Sorry, the Dayton House Resort does not rent to local residents living in Horry County, SC or Georgetown County, SC.  

What is the resort's Do Not Disturb policy?

Your Health and Safety is of utmost importance, therefore, if the “Do Not Disturb” sign remains on your door for an extended period- of- time and we are unable to contact you, we may knock on your door and if no answer, enter your room to determine your well-being. Please understand it is not our intention to disturb guests during their vacation, however, we reserve the right to enter rooms to check on the safety and security of our guests and property as well as to perform maintenance and repairs.  

What is the minimum check-in age?

The minimum check-in age for the hotel is 25 years old, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.  

What is the cancellation policy?

The deposit is fully refundable until 72 hours prior to arrival. Guests who do not arrive on their scheduled arrival date and do not inform the hotel of their wish to change their stay dates (no-show), will forfeit the advance deposit.  

What is included in the resort fee?

The resort fee of $15.00 per night (plus tax) includes maintenance and guest usage of all resort amenities such as pools, two-acre oceanfront lawn with umbrella-covered picnic tables, chairs, lounges, lazy river, sauna, hot tubs, and fitness center. The resort fee also includes complimentary Wi-Fi, free onsite parking, free download of the Dayton House Resort app featuring express check-in and digital key service, local and domestic long-distance calls, and full hot breakfast daily at The Rose Room from 7am to 10am.  

What housekeeping services are available daily?

Housekeeping services are limited to removing trash and refreshing your towels on a daily basis. If you require something additional, please contact the front desk during your stay.  

What are the pool hours?

Pool hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.  

What amenities can be found in my guest room?

All rooms are equipped with an iron/board, coffee pot, blow dryer, safe, alarm clock radio, 50" TV, and a balcony. Rooms in the Middle Building and West Buildings have a small fridge and microwave. Rooms in the North Building and South Buildings are efficiency-style with a full-size fridge, stove, microwave, dishes/utensils/cookware. All suites in the Suites Building have a full kitchen and two 50" TVs.  

Is Wi-Fi available?

Wi-Fi is available at the resort and is included in your resort fee.  

Is there a surcharge to use my credit card?

There is no surcharge for using credit cards.  

Is there a shuttle to and from the airport?

The hotel does NOT offer shuttle transportation. The front desk is happy to provide taxi information, and Uber/Lyft services are always available for your convenience.  

Is the hotel pet-friendly?

The resort does not allow pets. Service animals are welcome and must be registered at the front desk, and this does not include emotional support animals.  

Is it possible to check in early? Can we use the facilities before checking in?

Early check-in is based on availability. We are happy to check you in early if the room is ready! It is recommended to download the FREE Dayton House Resort app and complete the Express Check-In process. If you arrive early and the room is not ready, you may pre-register, obtain wristbands, and start enjoying the pool facilities. Restrooms for changing are located near the front desk. A front desk team member will call you when the room is ready.  

How many parking passes are allotted per room?

The hotel offers two parking passes per unit.  

How far is the airport from the resort?

The airport is approximately 4.5 miles away. However, plan your travel accordingly depending on traffic. The trip may take as few as 12 to 15 minutes, or up to 25 minutes on a high-traffic day.  

How can I make changes to my reservation?

If you booked your reservation through the hotel directly, simply call the Dayton House at 1-843-448-2441 to make changes. If your reservation was made through a third party (like Expedia, Booking.com, or Agoda/Priceline), please reach out to the third party directly to make changes or cancellations.  

Do you provide on-site parking?

Hotel parking is complimentary. The main parking lot is located across the street from the front desk. The North and South buildings have limited covered parking, including several ADA spaces. A four-level covered parking deck can be found adjacent to the Rose Room Restaurant on Withers Drive. The Suites Building has a three-level covered parking deck. The first level can accommodate larger vehicles and the upper levels accommodate compact cars only. The West Building has several spaces underneath along with a parking lot behind the building on Withers Drive. Note: Hotel grounds are spacious and there are several City of Myrtle Beach metered parking areas surrounding the property. Please make sure you see a designated Dayton House parking sign before you settle into a space.  

Do you provide cribs or rollaway beds?

We do not provide cribs or additional beds for our rooms.  

Do you offer group discounts?

We love our groups at the Dayton House Resort! Whether your group is coming for a sports event, corporate meeting, or bus tour, our friendly and knowledgeable sales team is at your service! Group rates are seasonal and based on availability. If you need a quote on 10 or more rooms per night, please call 843-448-2441 and ask for "Group Sales".  

Do you offer discounts to area attractions?

The hotel partners with Myrtle Beach Discount Attractions to offer tickets and recommendations for local area shows and attractions! Visit a representative during your stay or call 843-297-4168 for more information.  

Do you allow motorcycles on the premises?

Yes, motorcycles are welcome. Motorcycle parking is located at the Rose Room Restaurant parking lot only.  

Do you accommodate late checkout?

You may call for a checkout-time extension to as late as 12:30 p.m. (This convenience is available as long as the room is not scheduled for another guest.) If checkout will be later than 12:30 p.m., a half-day rate may apply.  

Do I need a credit card at check-in?

For check-in, debit and credit cards are preferred. However, if one chooses to use cash, a check for the deposit must be sent at least a month before the visit to enable a reservation. Also, if checking in with cash, a $100 deposit will be required at check-in. The cash deposit of $100, will be refunded in check form by mail within 7 days after check-out The original credit card placed on file at the time of booking must be presented at check-in by card holder with a matching ID.  

Can I check out early?

ONE NIGHT forfeiture for early departures. This policy applies to individual and group guests.  

Can I book a reservation without a deposit?

An advance deposit equal to the first night’s stay will be taken upon booking for all vacation guests. Your reservation’s remaining balance is due at time of check-in.  

Are the rooms smoke-free?

The rooms are smoke-free.  

Are the pools heated?

All pools and the lazy river are heated. Outdoor pools and the lazy river tube ride are heated seasonally.
